A 3D desert for Infiniti
After wholly embracing the ICVFX Virtual Production process on his Army of the Dead spot, Zack Snyder requested a return to NantStudios to direct the reveal spot for the Infiniti QX60. The studio RAD team created a desert environment for the client with an extremely quick turnaround. We leveraged our 2D media playback system for the driving sequences and Unreal for the 3D environment final reveal. The entire spot was filmed at our studio in El Segundo with all the exterior shots filmed directly outside the stage door on the lot.

The shots in which the vehicle was moving were lensed using 2D plate playback and the final reveal on the salt flat was built in Unreal by the NantStudios Real-Time Art Department.”
Our studio was used as a Hollywood backlot with dozens of extras in full costume. Because the vehicle hadn’t been released yet, our lot provided all the privacy the production needed to ensure there were no prying eyes.
